Piano Tuners & Teachers

Lindsay Garvin-Daniels, M.A., PDGE Secondary Music Education (QTS), BMus (Hons), Certified Piano Technician (CPT), ISM

Lindsay is committed to her career in music, having begun her musical journey with piano lessons at the age of four. At nine years old, she was awarded a music scholarship at Rossall School and continued her education under a full academic and boarding scholarship at Chetham’s School of Music. Lindsay is passionate about music education and remains actively engaged in enhancing her musical skills and knowledge.

With a solid academic foundation, Lindsay has earned numerous awards and qualifications in music and education, including two master's level degrees and two postgraduate degrees in Music and Piano Technology. She is currently pursuing a Licentiate of Trinity College London in Piano Performance, benefiting from the guidance and mentorship she receives through her connections with Chetham’s.

After completing her studies in piano tuning and piano technology in Canada in 2016, Lindsay transitioned to a role as a secondary school music teacher, piano tuner, and private piano instructor. As her clientele for piano tuning and private lessons grew rapidly, she established 'The Piano School' in 2019, which offers comprehensive piano teaching and tuning services full-time. In 2022, her partner David joined her as a second teacher.

Lindsay expresses appreciation for the opportunities and support she has received, which have significantly contributed to the success and growth of her business. She also takes great pleasure in giving back to the community of the Fylde Coast by providing musical opportunities.

‘I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where each student's unique needs, abilities, and learning styles are taken into consideration. Whether you are a complete beginner, an adult learner, or an advanced musician, I tailor my teaching methods to suit you.

I strongly believe that each lesson should have a clear purpose and be relevant to the student's interests and intentions. My goal is to empower students to become independent, well-rounded, and creative musicians who have the skills to express themselves freely, play with technical precision, and deepen their musical knowledge.’

Lindsay and David first met as students of Chetham’s School of Music back in the 2000’s. As they pursued their unique, separate journeys to become piano tuners, life led them to reconnect in the most delightful way, at the Bechstein piano shop, united by their love of pianos. Now, they’ve teamed up both as a family and professionally, with their piano school, offering piano lessons, concert preparation, and tuning services throughout Lancashire and Manchester.
